I'm trying to find a Mordecai Bennett,who may have been born in the Parish of Birmingham in around 1771(?), he joined the East India Company in around 1790, & went out to St Helena island. Then about a year later went out to Madras in India,before comming back to St Helena in around 1795/95. But can't find him in any Parish on Line! can any one help please? & where would the name Mordecai have come from? it is a Hebrew name
