Family minus Peter? moved to Birkenhead where children subsequently married. |

William Andrew Tate was born in Scotland but in the Canadian census 1901 described himself as Irish. He likely emigrated to Millbrook Ontario Canada in the 1850's but was resident in Toronto by 1900. He was a vinegar salesman. His father may have been John Tate/Tait. He married Julia Winslow of Millbrook, Ontario and they had four daughters, Edna, Mabel, Helen and Shirley.
William Andrew Tate was my great grandfather. I think he also had a brother Fred.
Here's hoping someone might be able to shed some light on William's ancestry.

Miss Webster married Andrew Clyde, who then married Sarah Sills in South Africa. He was on a tour of duty in India and on way back stopped off at the Cape and travelled up to Port Elizabeth where he met and married Sarah. She died when their children were 2,4 and 6 years old and they were put into St Josephs orphanage as he was unable to look after 3 little girls.Anyone know anything about this family???
