My family came from Ireland and settled on Merseyside (Liverpool and Birkenhead). I know that at least one branch of the family changed their name to McQuarrie but don't know why. I am from that line. |

Mr.James Daly from Dublin joined the 24th Regiment of Foot about 1860, and had died by 1895. He married Ann Elizabeth ..... prior to 1862 and their daughter Margaret was born in 1862 (or 1865) the census says in Scotland. She cannot be found. James' widow Ann was living with her daughter Margaret (now married to Pyke) in Kingston Upon Thames in the 1901 census. James is not buried with his immediate family: which possibly means he died in a War, but he cannot be found at Kew. Does anyone recognise this family please? |

Ivers; James, his wife Jane and his son Charles and his wife Marianne. James and Jane Ivers moved to Blessington in Wicklow in the late 18th., century, where Charles appears to be their son along with other children. James was a slater and died in Blessington in 1825. His son Charles was also a slater and he also died their a generation later.
Did James Ivers descend from other James and Charles Ivers noted early in the first decades of the 1700's or did he arrive in Ireland from England that relates to other Ivers noted there in Central England? |
