James Patrick Walsh born in Georgetown, now known as Invercargill, New Zealand, March 5 1881, eldest son of Patrick and Bridget Walsh (nee Moran). Patrick is understood to have gone overseas and joined the army in UK or Scotland, we have a photo of him in army uniform (kilt) and then many years later with four medals, all from WW1. We understand that he married and could have a daughter, but we also understand that he died ? aged 50 ish, and that his widow eventually re married and went overseas ? Canada, he could have been in Scotland or England. We have searched for years. We have nothing else. |

Peter Cooper was probably born in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia. His father, Scipio, was a refugee from the American War of 1812.
Peter became a mariner - a Ship's Steward. He married Mary Fairclough on the 13th March 1859 at Liverpool, England. By the time his daughter, Selina, was born, on the 9th December 1859, Peter is recorded as deceased.

My Great Uncle Joseph Lynn went to Canada on a "one way ticket" purchased by his parents. I often wonder what he had done to upset them!
His father was James Lynn born in Annan, Scotland in 1863. James married Mary Ann Murray in Dalbeattie in December 1858.
Joseph had three sisters, Agnes, Elizabeth and Ann. Only Lizzy married and she became a Kelly. Her husband was Thomas and she had three children, Joseph, James and Veronica. Joseph was killed in ww2. My father James used to talk about a visit from his uncle Joe to their house in James Street, Blaydon upon Tyne when he was a little boy. He also talked of his uncle being in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I think there was an attempt to reconcile with his family who all remained in Blaydon. The letter he wrote to the Parish Priest of the time was ignored however. I find that rather sad.I so hope that he had a nice family who loved him and I would welcome any infomation on this rather romantic but long lost member of my family. I have only just begun my research and have had some excellent results so far. Gillian Calvert |

John McKee, born abt. 1806 in County Down, Ireland. His father was Thomas McKee. John married Margaret Roddie, a daughter of James Roddie and Elnor Nesbit. John and Margaret had 2 sons, Thomas and John before leaving Ireland in 1846 for St. Johns, NB, Canada. After settling they had 5 more children. Their oldest, Thomas and his wife Sarah, had 5 children, including my great-grandfather, George Ira McKee. George married Jennie Bartlett and they had 13 children, including my grandfather, David Emil McKee, born Jan. 21, 1910 in Calais, Maine. I would love to hear from anyone with info about my Irish or Canadian ancestors. Thank-you and God bless! |
