Mary BEATTIE was born about 1889 in either the UK or Ireland. She lived in Brooklyn and was 20 years old when her daughter, Elizabeth Annie BEATTIE (my mother) was born on 22 May 1909, and given up for adoption. Mary was listed on Elizabeth's Baptism, on 1 September 1909, at SS Peter and Paul's Church, Brooklyn, NY. The officiator was Fr Thom. Fenarty or Fr Wm B Farell. Father, listed as Nicholas Beattie, Godmother, as Anna Donnelly, on 1 Sept. 1909.
In the 1930s, Mary sent a request to the adoption agency wanting to meet Elizabeth, but it was intercepted by Elizabeth's adoptive mother who went to meet Mary, still in Brooklyn. Elizabeth, was not "officially" adopted, so we have her birth certificate listing her parents & her Baptismal records. Elisabeth, did not find out for 20 more years, too late to search for her birth mother. I began my search years ago. Any information would be a great help. Thank you, Kathleen |

I am seeking information re William Henry Bullimore born sometime in the 1800's. William had 2 children - details as follows
Elizabeth Charlotte Bullimore - born 14th Dec 1876 in the district of Canongate, Midlothian Scotland. Elizabeth's birth recorded as illegitimate. Mother recorded as Susan Bullimore but Bullimore is unlikely to be her real surname but the surname of her daughter's father.
The second child was Henry Albert Bullimore - born in Lambeth London on June 25 1879. This birth also recorded as illegitimate, mother recorded as Susan Bullimore. Both childen turn up in the 1881 English census boarding with a family called Saunders. There is no further trace of them until 1905 when Henry Albert Bullimore marries Emma Bransgrove in London in 1905. Henry Albert Bullimore's father is listed on the marriage certiicate as William Bullimore - deceased - occupation recorded as waiter. Henry Albert Bulimore was my grandfather and Elizabeth Charlotte my great aunt. Any info would be much appreciated and I can share what I have gathered so far.

Thomas Lauder was born in Scotland, possibly Berwickshire @1876 and at some time moved to Lurghan in Northern Ireland. He married Nellie and had at least 7 children. He was a shipyard labourer & was sent to prison in 1923 when the youngest children went into care. |
