Description: I am trying to find more information about my Great Uncle George Patrick Houlihan. who was living in Boston Ma. George Patrick Houlihan was born in 1882 in parish of Ballina Tipperary Ireland.Postal address (christening certificate) Parochial House, Ballina, Killaloe, Co. Clare. He was the youngest of the family. His parents were John Houlihan b.1843 & Elizabeth Clancy b.1842. His siblings were William b. 1868 - (my grandfather), Mary b.1874, Margaret Sophie (who moved to Paddock Wood in England) b.1875, Bridget b.1877, Eliza b.1878, John b.1880, James b.1881. George Patrick and his sister Elizabeth emigrated to USA and settled in Boston Ma. at the turn of the 20th Century. He became a dentist and Dr G.P. Houlihan worked at the Metropolitan Dental Parlour, 321 Trement St, Boston Ma. He had a daughter Ruth Houlihan in 1910. She was a stenographer at the Chrysler works. She was married about 1936 and moved to Brighton Ma. or New Brighton? My uncle John Houlihan (whose father William was George Patrick's eldest brother) was corresponding with Dr George Patrick Houlihan right upto the Second World War. After the war my uncle tried to re-establish contact with Dr Houlihan but was unsuccessful. He tried contacting the Dental Association, Police and Chrysler but was unable to trace him. I have tried finding his death on ancestry.com and family search but with no success. I wonder if anyone might know how I can trace him or his daughter. If she had children they are probably still alive. I have tried looking up Ruth Houlihan's marriage certificate but so far have been unsuccessful. In the 1930 United States Federal Census Record Dr George P. Houlihan was living with his wife Katherine J. Houlihan(born in Boston maiden name unknown) and daughter Ruth E.Houlihan in Quincy Norfolk Massachusetts. In the1929 Newton Massachusetts Directory it gives the address of Ruth E. Houlihan as 17 Gardner, Newton (including Nonantum or North Village)Massachusetts and says her occupation is "operative."I would be obliged if anyone could help me discover what happened to my uncle.
