WALSH

|
Jane Elizabeth WALSH came over to Australia some time before 1834
She married Paul MILKINS on 13th Jan 1834 in Campbell Town Tasmania. There is a record of a Jane Walsh arriving to Hobart on the 10th October 1833 from Liverpool on the Ship Edward Coulston but wether its her or not is another story. I dont know if she came over as a convict or immigrated, there are no convict records of her in Tassie,
I would love to find more information but I have little information to go on. |

ancestor of Wm B Murphy, my progenitor, who was b 1798 on Eastern Shores of Maryland; his father based on educated guess may have been a Thomas Murphy; uncertain when & where this Murphy line originated in Ireland--I've located plenty of info about Wm B Murphy's family, five sons who married into families from Harford Co, Maryland. By 1870 they had all migrated into Louisville, KY area. |

My Great Great Grandfather HUGH HALL COCHRAN(E) was a watch and clock maker in LURGAN, Northern Ireland, in the 1830s. He had a brother EDWARD COCHRAN(E) also a watch and clock maker. as well as a son HUGH (junior) my Great Grandfather who moved to NEW ROSS. Co WEXFORD. He was commissioned to make the THOLSEL (Town Hall Clock) which has recently been restored and working perfectly since about 1870.Does anyone know anything more about this family ? There was also PATRICK COCHRAN(E) who was a watch and clock maker in PORTADOWN. and Robert who moved to GASGOW and again was a watch and clock maker, but I haven't as yet found any mention of the GLASGOW COCHRAN(E)S. So please help me with information.
ALSO ARE THERE ANY OF THEIR CLOCKS STILL AROUND.??
Thanks,
Heather |
